2019 Tucson Juneteenth Festival

The Tucson Juneteenth Committee in association with the Southwest Soul Circuit presents the 49th annual Juneteenth Celebration, commemorating the abolition of slavery in America! This is a FREE EVENT!

Open to all, the Juneteenth Festival has expanded its footprint and programming to be more inclusive of the community it serves. Headlining this all day event will be Singer and Spoken Word Artist ‘Theresa tha S.O.N.G.B.I.R.D.’ The festival boasts three stages filled with music, dance, poetry, history, health and wellness presentations and more. The State of Arizona, Pima County and the City of Tucson will offer proclamations to commemorate the occasion. There will also be a Black history museum curated by Black History 101 Mobile Museum, bringing to Tucson a portion of over 7,000 original artifacts of Black memorabilia dating from the Transatlantic slave trade era to hip-hop culture. A Military Pavilion, HBCU Pavilion, Visual Arts Pavilion, History Pavilion and others have been assembled for this national celebration which became an Arizona State holiday in 2016.
