Tucson, Az. (August 19, 2015) - Southwest Soul Circuit presents a late night music variety show called “Somethin' Live!”. This one hour contemporary Soul music television program will highlight local contemporary soul artists, regional performers, and national acts. This weekly show airs on KOLD 13 starting late night August 28th, after
Entertainment Tonight (ET) at 1:37AM. Southwest Soul Circuit records live performances from the Soul Stage at Armory Park during the 2nd Saturdays Downtown urban street festival. Additional footage is shot at Garden Level Studios in the heart of downtown Tucson.
The power couple behind the production, Kevin and Tanishia Hamilton, could not be more pleased with this culmination of effort, artistry, and community enthusiasm."There is a real need in Tucson for culturally relevant Soul music to be displayed- it was not a type of music that production businesses were focused on. We saw this need, and we filled it," explains Kevin.
Southwest Soul Circuit was established in 2006, and for nearly a decade has produced concerts in regional major cities from San Diego to Dallas, with artists such as George Clinton and Roberta Flack. In addition, Southwest Soul Circuit has produced and performed for the Arizona Centennial and at Superbowl XLIX.
The Hamiltons’ also currently own and operate Garden Level Studios, with special focus on artist development and youth outreach through their youth development program - Garden Youth Development Project, Inc. The primary focus of the program is to aid children and young adults in discovering their personal artistic style and gaining studio experience.
While Kevin and Tanishia have worked in television production before, “Somethin' Live!” is their first original program in terms of concept, creation, and production. Catch the first episode August 28 after Entertainment Tonight at 1:37AM on KOLD 13.
